Scavenger Class

Scavenger is a login exclusive class in Bake or Die. You cannot find it in the lobby Class Shop. It appears on the login rewards track alongside Mad Scientist, which uses a Hand Cannon and Mutated Crawler summons. Scavenger appeared in the same August 2026 reward window that also included the Mad Scientist login kit.

The class is a utility economy kit, not a combat class. You buy combat with Nuggets: Juggernaut at 30, Gunslinger at 65, Bombastica at 250. Scavenger does not compete with those rows. It makes the resources those classes spend go further.

If a guide ranks Scavenger S-tier for combat, that guide is not reading the perk column correctly. Scrap Magnet is not a weapon.

Scrap Magnet starter and what it does

You spawn with a Scrap Magnet when you equip Scavenger. This is a tool, not a gun. It pulls nearby scrap, components, and dropped items toward you automatically, which means less running back and forth to collect what enemies drop or what the environment scatters.

On a 32-player server where multiple people are looting the same area, the magnet is a personal pickup speed advantage. It does not affect shared Cash from pies, but it does affect how fast you personally accumulate crafting materials, metal, and components. If you are the person on the squad who runs component drops, this is the class that makes that job faster.

Do not sell the Scrap Magnet. It is the class identity. If you want a gun, buy Gunslinger at 65 Nuggets. The magnet is why you equip this class in the lobby.

Double deposit and scrap discounts explained

Level 1 of the class gives you double deposit value on scrap and component items. Every piece of scrap you bring to the relevant station is worth twice as much toward whatever you are crafting or purchasing. This is the primary economic perk of the kit and the main reason to slot it in a squad that is farming blueprints.

Later levels add scrap discounts at the blueprint table. If you are the person on the squad who runs components, the discount makes every run more efficient. Stack this against Butcher at 40 Nuggets if you are choosing between a combat utility kit and a class that grinds corpses faster.

X-ray scrap detection and daytime routing

At higher levels, Scavenger gains the ability to see scrap through walls. This is a routing tool. You know which building on the map actually holds the components you need before you break a door. On a server where people are competing for limited component spawns, being able to pre-sort from outside the building is a real time advantage.

Use this with the map guide to plan your daytime route more efficiently. If the blueprint table needs Metal and the X-ray shows none inside the nearest house, move to the next structure without spending time clearing the wrong building.

Economy class, not combat class

Scavenger is the class you slot in when your squad already has:

Scavenger fills the resource role: faster collection, better value per drop, and X-ray routing to reduce dead-time exploration. It does not hold a door. It does not heal. It does not bake faster.

Compare to Bounty Hunter at 450 Nuggets if you want a combat kit that also prints Cash from civilians and bosses. Compare to Gardener at 200 Nuggets if you want planting utility. Both are Nugget purchases. Scavenger is a login exclusive.

What this class is not

Scavenger is not a combat kit. It will not hold a Night 5 funnel by itself. It will not replace Juggernaut if you are taking chip damage. It will not clear bosses.

Scavenger is not a Nugget purchase. It does not appear on the lobby Class Shop wall. If you missed the login window, you cannot buy it retroactively.

Scavenger is not mandatory for crafting. Auto Turrets and Ray Guns still craft without this class. Scavenger makes the resource grind more efficient; it does not unlock anything that is otherwise unavailable.

When Scavenger is the right slot

You already own Gunslinger and Bombastica. Your squad has a Doctor and a Technician. You are the person who runs components and deposits scrap while others bake and shoot. You want the login reward to actually do something instead of sitting as a lobby mannequin.

The class is best in an organised squad where people are communicating about what the blueprint table needs and who is heading to which building. Solo players get less value from the X-ray because there is no-one to call the loot to.

Scavenger is a utility reward for consistent login players. It makes the resource economy smoother, not the combat harder. Treat it as a quality-of-life bonus on a track that also gave you Mad Scientist, not as a reason to stop farming Nuggets for the shop classes that actually win nights.
