Getting Started in Bake or Die
Lobby class shop, grinder-mixer-oven-shelf, Gunsmith stopgaps, and a Night 1 plan that keeps the diner standing.
Bake or Die dropped on Roblox on 2025-04-05 and is still live. Your first hour is not a boss rush. It is a lobby check, a diner tour, one cheap gun, and a night you survive so corpses exist to grind at sunrise. This page is that hour. For the full loop and 32-player roles, switch to How to Play after you sell your first pie.
Lobby: quests, badges, class shop
You spawn in the lobby, not inside the diner. Hit the daily quest board first. Three quests refresh every 24 hours and pay 1–3 Gold Nuggets each. Finish anything already in progress before the timer flips. Open the in-game badge scroll on the left of the HUD. Those milestones pay 1–10 Nuggets each and total about 47 if you redeem them — they are not the six official Roblox badges. The Gold Nuggets page is the full farm; here you only need enough to buy a class.
The class shop is in this same lobby. Classes persist across runs. The beginner buy path is Juggernaut at 30 Nuggets (Brass Knuckles, double HP), then Gunslinger at 65 (Revolver, +35% reload), then Bombastica at 250 (Kaboom Cannon, best wave clear). Baker at 10 Nuggets is the cheapest economy pick if you want faster ovens and later pie-price perks, but it will not carry Night 1 alone. Scavenger and Mad Scientist are login exclusives — do not hunt them on the shelf. Gladiator at 75 cannot pick up guns. Use the class tier list when you have extra Nuggets; do not skip Juggernaut for flavor.
There are no promo codes. If a video overlay promised a code box, it is wrong. Confirm on the Codes Hub, then come back to Nuggets.
Diner stations: grinder, mixer, oven, shelf
Load into a 32-player server. The diner is your base. Four stations matter immediately:
- Grinder (shredder). Drag zombie corpses here. Meat, Yeast, Carrots, Explosive Meat, and later Cheese drop depending on what you killed. Corpses spoil if you wander first — collect, then grind.
- Mixer. A pie has six ingredient slots. One Savory Meat slot sells for $11. Six slots sell for $55. Do not bake six singles unless you have no time and almost no meat.
- Oven. Baking is the only slow step. Start a tin, then grind the next corpse while it cooks.
- Shelf. Unsold pies do not pay. Place finished pies on the shelf before sunrise so customers can buy them.
Daytime priority never changes: collect corpses, grind, bake six-slot pies, craft, then shop / explore / rescue NPCs. Repair walls last, right before night. Pie Recipes is the deep dive; your first hour only needs full tins and a shelf drop.
Gunsmith and General Store
The Gunsmith sits next to the diner and spends Cash, not Nuggets. Cash is shared with everyone on the server. Do not all buy the same $150 Revolver. The early buy order is dual Revolvers at $150 each (fire one, swap, fire the other), Butcher knife at $200 if you are melee, then M1 Garand, Sawed-Off, SMG at $1,250, and much later the Exo Rifle around $14,500. Auto Turret comes from an NPC blueprint, not the shelf. Ray Gun is a Mad Scientist / assembly project, not a Night 1 purchase. Full ladder: weapon tier list.
The General Store sells bandages and survival junk. Buy a stack if you are still on melee. Do not empty the shared Cash pool on extras while the diner still has no gun.
Night 1 plan
Night 1 is a small wave. Funnel zombies through one door. Board the other openings. If you are melee, stand on the indoor spike machine so trap ticks stack with swings. Watch the back room generator under the yellow high-voltage sign — if it dies, lights and later turrets die with it. Old Batteries from houses recharge it.
Kill, stay near the diner, and do not chase stragglers into the desert. Sunrise burns leftover undead. The second the sky lightens, collect every corpse before it spoils, grind, mix six slots, bake, shelf. That first $55 pie funds the second Revolver or the Butcher knife.
If a teammate is already baking, you collect and grind. If someone is repairing, you shop. 32-player servers waste Cash when four people buy the same gun. Talk, or at least watch the shared total.
After Night 1, the loop is the same at larger scale. Explore dilapidated houses for chests and trapped NPCs. Rescues drop blueprints — Auto Turret is the one you craft as soon as you have it, then feed it Gunsmith ammo. Do not skip wall repairs because you wanted one more pie; a breached diner on Night 2 wastes the meat you just baked.
Your first hour is done when you have sold at least one full pie, held one door, and either bought a class or written down the Nugget gap. The next page is How to Play for controls and exploration, then Survive Nights before Night 5. Day 6 is Evil Chicken — do not walk in with a single Revolver and no funnel.
The first sunrise in Bake or Die is the real tutorial complete screen. If corpses are on the floor, you still have work. If the shelf is empty, the oven ran for nothing. If Cash did not move, someone bought a gun before pies sold. Fix that triangle — bodies, bake, buy — and the rest of the wiki is loadout detail, not a second orientation. Come back to this page only when you join a new account and need the lobby order again.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for diner nights, classes, and pie sells.
What should I buy first in Bake or Die?
Spend Nuggets on Juggernaut (30), then Gunslinger (65), then Bombastica (250). Spend Cash on dual Revolvers ($150 each) before the SMG. Baker at 10 Nuggets is the cheapest economy class if you only care about oven speed.
Where are the diner stations?
Inside the diner: grinder for corpses, mixer for six ingredient slots, oven to bake, shelf to sell. Gunsmith and General Store sit next to the diner and take shared Cash.
Are there codes I should redeem in my first hour?
No. Bake or Die has no codes. Farm Nuggets from dailies and the badge scroll instead. Details: Codes and Gold Nuggets.
What is the Night 1 priority?
Hold one door, stay on or near the spike machine, protect the generator, then at sunrise collect corpses before they spoil and bake a six-slot pie. Full night tactics: Survive Nights.
Should I explore the map on Day 1?
Only after corpses are ground and a pie is on the shelf. Then loot houses, rescue NPCs for blueprints, and return to repair walls before sundown. Exploration order lives in How to Play.
Is Cash the same as Gold Nuggets?
No. Cash is in-run money from pies and is shared with the 32-player server. Nuggets are lobby currency for classes and stay on your account.
